I got the chance to sleep in today because I am going to a workshop that starts at 9 instead of to work that starts at 7. Do I use that time to sleep in and have a relaxing morning? No. I get up at 7 anyways and do aerobics! Before coffee!
I made spicy tofu dip. I had waited just long enough so that my carrots were way too soft so I tried it with green bell peppers instead. Still delicious!
Some gentle readers may remember such culinary creations as my "Sam's Tamale Pie." I just found my last slice of it forgotten at the back of my fridge. Does anyone know how long baked meat and veggies and cheese lasts? Or how about the cornbread-like topping? I want to eat it. It is calling my name! But it might hurt me.
And finally, a little yoga for you all. I'm all about camel pose right now. Currently, I do it something sort of like this: But my hot yoga teacher seems to think I can totally do it like this: OUCH! I'm excited though. I guess this variation on the pose is also good practice for getting into wheel pose from a standing position. Ooooh. practice practice practice.
I am finding it very hard to believe that I have a measly 2 hours and a few minutes left of my first ever night shift. I'm not even that tired! A little groggy maybe, kind of quiet, but definitely able to keep my eyes open and my senses about me. My eyes aren't even looking the slightest bit ptotic! I'm happy that this whole night shift thing doesn't seem as bad as I had once imagined.
Oh. And the best part? I haven't even had any coffee! Wha-a-a-a??? Yep, I've become some sort of weird super nurse who stays awake just from the sheer thought of being needed by sad cancer patients. Who knew?
*PS - I posted this blog and then went to the eye doctor and I kid you not, he looks EXACTLY like the one in the pink blouse/orange T-shirt. Oh except his hair is a little curlier. HOTT. So I imagined him singing this to me while he was making sure I can see properly enough to drive in the dark.
I just heard on NPR that the youth vote is all about Obama. I thought, "go us!" Then they stated that the youth vote is for those 18-26 years old. Damn. I guess I've been booted from that group. Someone coulda filled me in on that a couple years ago! Thanks jerks.
